I'm sorry, but this is one of the most miserable gaming experiences that I have ever had. Between the extremely low FPS of the browser version (legitimately about 5-15 FPS), and the downloaded version straight up not functioning.

A few of the holes were super frustrating to play on to where it wasn't fun. Namely the ones with the separated circular platforms. Please put some bridges connecting the circles or something. This level design is so horrendous because the swing strength seems super inconsistent. It's either very soft or very hard. The spiral course also isn't super great to play on because the ball always ends up rolling down to the center and jammed up against the walls.

Fix your game and I will happily give it another try.

get good

Fair enough. Turns out giving my computer a restart fixed running the downloaded version.

Nice game!

I like this Ollie and Calli "collab" game.

Some improvement suggestions:

1) Have a par marker per hole, as a reference for the player to plan their game strategy.

2) It's not easy to see which way Calli is aiming. I suggest adding an arrow extending from Ollie's head and pointing to the direction the shot will go to help with aiming.

3) It's difficult to calculate shot strength. I found myself wanting to hit just a bit below max power but it was always too low or max power. A power gauge UI on one of the screen edges would help a ton.

4) For short shots, it would help to have a "putter" golf club with lower power but more precise control. Maybe have a button on the screen to change into putter mode.

5) Not relevant to the game itself, but the web page color hurts my eyes. It's not comfortable to look at for long periods of time, so it detracts from the gaming experience.

Due to the difficulty to aim and calculate shot strength, some holes (specifically the "island" ones) become very frustrating and lower the "fun" factor for me.

I still had fun playing and tried playing a second time once I had a better feel for the shots direction and strength.

Good game! :)

The goods:

The game feels nice to play. It runs smoothly (downloaded version on desktop). And has a lot of potential. The different soils are a nice addition in terms of variety. The ball model is hilarious and the overall theme fits Calli.

Things that would be nice to have:

  • 1) A power gauge would be nice to have but is in no way necessary to enjoy the game. I found that sometimes the animation didn’t reflect the actual strength of the hit.
  • 2) Some obstacles to add variety and challenge to the game. I felt like there was a lack of punishment for just going straight for the hole.
  • 3) An option to play multiplayer. Now, I’m not sure how you coded it so it might be harder to implement at this point. This would be a great game to play with friends.

Overall, the game is nice but lacks a bit in terms of repeatability. I’ve played through 3 times and there wasn’t much difference between the runs. There are a few possible reasons why it is not as popular as previous titles.

First and foremost, the streamer the game is based on is insanely busy. Having someone play your game on stream is a great way to make it more popular thus increasing the number of downloads. The reason smol ame is still being downloaded is probably because of clips and VODs being pushed by YouTube even now. Keep in mind that this is purely a speculation based on how the girls have talked about the process of playing games, but another reason might be that the game hasn’t been approved for permissions yet. Finally, there’s also the All-Mighty Algorithm. Like I said on twitter, I didn’t see your post when you launched the game… I’m currently on work leave and spend an insane amount of time online and it managed to miss my timeline.

I hope you keep working on the games if it is a viable option for you. They have a lot of potential. It is hard for indie studios let alone as a single person to publish a hit game. I would love to see them being pushed even further. Calli’s has a lot of potential as a party game, Bae’s was very fun and insanely frustrating (in a good way) to play through, Sana’s is a very chill game that I love to play while watching streams, and smol ame feels really polished and well made.

Great game but the camera sensitivity is too high and it it's a bit lagy?

I didn't notice any lag playing through the browser.

Strange. Tried it on 2 browsers on 2 pc-s, and micro-lags always occur. Like on the scythe and ball collision frame.

Maybe I just didn't notice it.

Sensitivity can be lowered in the settings. The hitstop when you hit the ball is intentional.

i can only imagine Ollie's reaction to this
